From the Mountains to the Marina
A Cross-Region Search, a Trusted Referral, and a Leschi Love Story
One of the greatest privileges of being part of the Sotheby’s International Realty network is how seamlessly relationships travel. A trusted recommendation in Colorado becomes a meaningful connection here in Washington, and suddenly a new chapter begins with familiarity, confidence, and good company. That was the case when Nikki Pulitzer of LIV Sotheby’s International Realty connected us with clients she had just helped to sell their second home in Crested Butte. We are so grateful for her partnership — and inspired by the journey that followed.
These clients arrived with a vision: water, community, character, and a sense of retreat. What they didn’t know yet was where that would take shape. And that’s where we came in. We listened closely to their lifestyle wishes, emotional cues, daily rhythms, and the feeling of home they sought, and together we set out to explore.
Where the Search Began
We started on Bainbridge Island, drawn to the idea of walkability, slow mornings, and ferry/skyline views. We toured quiet neighborhoods tucked among cedar trees, homes with studio spaces and filtered water views, and pockets of the island where time seems to move just a bit slower. Bainbridge offers a wonderful blend of community and calm — and for many, it’s exactly the place to exhale and get settled.
But sometimes, you learn just as much from what isn’t quite right. And as we continued, we began to understand something essential: our clients didn’t just want quiet — they wanted connection. Movement. Discovery right outside the front door.
So we kept going.
Down the peninsula to Gig Harbor and Fox Island, exploring harborside outlooks and neighborhoods shaped by the tides, the trees, and the softness of coastal life. And while each place had beauty, something was still missing. Which is when we turned back toward Seattle and Lake Washington — and everything just clicked!
Finding THE DREAM Home in Leschi
There are neighborhoods you study and neighborhoods you feel. Leschi is one of the latter.
Tucked along the shore of Lake Washington, it’s where sailboats bob in the marina, morning coffee is a stroll away, Lake Washington Boulevard beckons for morning walks or evening bike rides, and the water reflects whatever the day brings.
And right across from the marina, we walked into a French Chateau-style home that felt like it had been waiting for them.
When the door opened, there was a moment of stillness — one of those quiet pauses where the energy shifts and everyone can sense it. Tall ceilings lifted the rooms. Light spilled across stone and wood. Ironwork imported from Europe added story and intention. Four fireplaces promised warmth and conversation. Leaded French doors framed the garden like a painting.
This was not just a home — it was an experience.
And the outdoor spaces? They felt cinematic:
A rooftop terrace with lake, mountain & marina views
An outdoor kitchen with a fountain and lush stonework
A dreamy pond and waterfall garden path tucked under lush greenery
Spaces for dinners that linger, mornings that unfold slowly, and evenings that feel like a gentle exhale

Why This Story Matters
Yes, this is a story about a beautiful home and a successful sale. But it’s also a story about:
Listening deeply, not just showing homes
Understanding lifestyle fit as much as layout
Knowing multiple markets intimately, so clients can explore confidently
And the strength of the Sotheby’s network, where collaboration is the norm, not the exception
This move happened because one trusted advisor said, I know who you should talk to. And that trust carried all the way to Lake Washington.

From setting a competitive price to leveraging deep market knowledge to presenting a home in the best possible light, each element plays a role in attracting interest and driving results. For those considering investment properties, renovations, or preparing to sell, having the right experts in your corner can shorten market time, maximize value, and ultimately lead to success.
Now, as this home moves closer to its next chapter, we’re reminded of why we love this work—unlocking potential, building opportunity, and guiding others through the process.
